TOWN OF BLAINE

MEETING MINUTES

 

July 17, 2012

 

Chairman Dyson called the July 17, 2012 monthly meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

 

Present were Chairman Dyson, Supervisor Carlson, Supervisor Pearson, Treasurer Holter, Clerk Ronningen, Ron Gallagher and Donny Slipher.

 

Don Carlson made the motion to approve the minutes of June 12, 2012.  Marty Pearson seconded the motion.  Motion passed.

 

Marty Pearson made the motion to approve the Treasurer's report.  Don Carlson seconded.  Motion passed.  

 

Expenses were reviewed.  Bank reconciliation was completed in QuickBooks for the checking account and money market account.  Don Carlson made the motion to approve the bills that were submitted by the Clerk. Marty Pearson seconded.  Motion passed. 

 

Correspondence:  Burnett Dairy reduced pre-buy price per gallon and will be increasing quantity purchased for propane pre-buy program.  Rhonda Reynolds updated the Burnett County Emergency Management website by adding a resource page.

 

Citizen Input:  None.

 

OLD BUSINESS:

 

  1. Road Equipment Update:  Ron reported that the mower was repaired.   The loader may need to be replaced and expenditure will be reviewed prior to year end.   
  2. Road Condition Report:  The roads are in good shape.  He suggested putting pit run on approximately a 2 mile stretch of Springbrook Trail when time permits. Dan is rescheduling an appointment with Bob Morehouse to inspect the South Markville Road, St. Croix Trail and Namekagon Trail bridges.
  3. Storm Update:  Emergency funding check was received and will be deposited in the Money Market for 2013 blacktop improvements.

 

 

                                                       

 NEW BUSINESS:

 

  1. Clerk Institute Presentation:  Ronningen gave an overview of the Institute she attended in Green Bay.
  2. Ordinance Regarding Synthetic Cannabinoids:  Discussion was tabled.
  3. Building Permits for removable structures:  Ronningen will check for a historic ordinance and change so as not to include removable structures.  If a county permit is required, a town permit will not be required.
  4. Reduce speed on section of Big McGraw Road:  An advisory caution sign will be place on roadway for children present.

 

 ITEMS TO BE PLACED ON THE AUGUST AGENDA:

 

  1. Cannabinoids Ordinance.
  2. Building Permit Ordinance.
  3. Recycling Center Procedures.
  4. Review road expenditures to budget.

 

Meeting was adjourned at 7:58 p.m.
